The Historic Aviation Memorial Museum houses a gift shop, multimedia theater room, library, two flight simulators, an Apache aircraft cockpit for children, a collection of approximately 7,000 sq. ft. of aviation memorabilia and 17 planes & helicopters spanning the 20th Century (1900-2014).  The memorabilia is beautifully displayed on freestanding kiosks inside the museum with currently 26 venues in house.  The 27th venue is comprised of 16 planes outside the museum on the airport’s tarmac.  (The number on display may vary from time to time when planes are at the hangar for restoration.)  The museum has loan agreements with the Marine Corp., US Air Force and Navy for a number of planes.   Through the Marine Corp. we have a Douglas Ad-5 Skyraider.  Through the Navy we have a T-2C Buckeye, HO4S-1 Sikorsky Helicopter, FJ-4 Fury, TA-4J Skyhawk and a PBY-5A Catalina.  Under the US Air Force agreement we have a F-111A Ardvark, F-105D Thunderchief, T-33A Shooting Star, F-4D Phantom, F101 Voodoo, F-100A Super Sabre “Hun” and a T-37B Tweet.  The museum owns a F104A Starfighter, Bell UH-1H Huey Helicopter, De Havilland DH-60 Moth, a MiG-17F and a F9F Cougar which will be mounted on a pole in the near future on Hwy 64 W @ Airport Dr.

The Historic Aviation Memorial Museum’s hangar, located on the East side of Tyler Pounds Regional Airport, is our restoration site and home of FighterJets, Inc., which flies 2 MiG-17F  in air shows throughout the US and Canada. This location is not open to the public since it is a working hangar.
